Greenheart has been in use for centuries around the world with a proven reputation of longevity when used under extreme conditions. Greenheart is becoming increasingly popular as a unique timber that requires no treatment, yet it is significantly stronger than Pine, Oak or Douglas Fir.
It is one of the most abundant species in the Mixed Tropical Forests of Guyana. Harvesting is carried out under strict Sustainable Forest Management guidelines. This, together with a continually improving saw milling and processing industry, ensures a long term and reliable supply of quality Greenheart products from Guyana.
All timber exported is graded to conform with international standards. The Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) is the regulatory body responsible for inspecting all timber destined for export. A Timber Marketing Certificate is issued in accordance with the grade for each type of product.
